"Not quite a year ago me and my family needed to purchase a new washing machine, so we ended up looking through quite a few brands, as you do.

We wanted one that was energy efficient, not too complicated and could handle a vast amount of washing, as our other one gave up the ghost from over loading and living in a hard water area. So in the end after swaying from one brand to another we ended up on this Hoover HNWL7166 and I have to say it really has fulfilled all our washing needs.

First of all most importantly it can handle a good 6kg to 7kg of washing, which is great where my family is concerned! It doesn't have a fancy LCD display which is actualy a good thing as the controls are less likely to go wrong because you've got less technical things to deal with, it also features a handy balancing mechanism which stops it from vibrating across your kitchen floor and just basicly helps to spin your clothes more evenly, which I think is great!

The one thing I love about the Hoover HNWL7166 is not only does it have a sleek design, but you can also customise your wash, simply by choosing what wash programme you would like as well as the speed you want it to be spun at which is great if you have a lot of washing that you don't want to be spun too fast. Plus you also have three time indicators which range from one hour, 45 minutes and 15 minutes, which is handy as you can see how long your wash has left to go. You can also choose the 15 minute spin cycle which is good if you have some wet hand washed clothes and the weather's not looking tpo good outside.

I have noticed that the 15 minute spin cycle on the HNWL7166 actually only seems to take about 7 minutes, but i think this is because I haven't spun a very heavy load of washing yet. Although when I have spun any clothes that I have hand washed in the past this machine has always got a lot of the water out, even when I've spun my jeans and big fluffy dressing gown together! Which is great as I've noticed due to it spinning the clothes so well they take less time to dry. And, like for most of us, anything that saves time is most definitely worth its weight in gold! Plus this machine has a whole host of other functions, such as a stain blaster, which seems to be pretty effective, delayed start and being able to stop the machine whilst in full flow, It also has a temprature dial which ranges from as low as 30 degrees all the way up to 90 degrees, but to be honest I find that my clothes are just as clean at 30 degrees, which is great as it uses less energy.

Also another handy function that the HNWL7166 has is being able to choose from three different time settings if you wish to delay the start of your washing. The times range from 3 hours, 6 hours and 9 hours. This would be most usefull if, 1) you had to go out somewhere or sort the kids out and just didn't have the time to start the machine up there and then, plus 2) say if you were too tired then you could just delay it to the 6 or 9 hour settings and the machine would automatically start by itsself when you woke up. Basically in some cases this could be a great time saver. There are also energy efficient programmes which are just as effective at getting your clothes as clean as all the others are.

Basically in my experience this machine is a lot easier to use than others I've experienced in the past, hence the dials as opposed to an LCD display as I said earlier in my HNWL7166 Review and the fact that you can customise it to your own specifications, as I've found all this really does help to speed the whole process up. Luckily we managed to get this machine for just under £350 from Tesco Direct, which I think isn't bad for its capabilities and the fact that else where it tends to cost more.

The only downsides I can think of, and it's a very minor one, is that it can make a few squeeky noises at times, but having said that you soon tune that out and plus it's much quieter than some washing machines, that's for sure! So in all I'd definitely say it was well worth the money and time that we spent looking for it."
